account & retail sales
Optional Modules
Trade Cash
Though simple cash sales can be made as part of the standard Sales Order Processing Module – Trade Cash delivers improved retail sales and payment handling.
Retail Sales
- Cash Drawer Analysis – As sales are made cash, cheques and credit card recipts can be logged into cash drawers. Managers can review instant flash totals at any time, and an end of day audit trail shows the transactions and totals for each drawer. Users can have an initial float, take uplifts and receive payment against a customer’s account (i.e. if a customer hands over a cheque for £1,000 to pay off part of their credit account, the value is logged against the cash drawer until the cheque can go to the back office for cash matching).
- Multiple Tender Types on every Transaction – STRIP5 will handle cash, cheque and cart payment types, allowing customers to pay by multiple tender types within one order.
- Till Receipt or full invoice print – At the end of an order the User can choose between a small till receipt print or a full A4 invoice print. This choice can be made automatically according to customer type or delivery method if required.
Transport Planning
The Transport requirement of a business can be a significant overhead. The Transport Planning Module helps the Despatch/Transport Manager get the most from his vehicles, reducing costs and improving customer service.
The Transport Planning module takes the traditional Planning Board or Pigeonhole system in the Transport Office and provides its equivalent in the STRIP5 system. This module provides the Transport Manager with facilities for showing available capacity on planned runs, and notifying others of the current schedules. The system can in turn feed an external ‘expert’ PC-based system for doing optimized Route Planning for the available lorries and orders.
- Easy Allocation of Deliveries and Collections to Runs – A simple but powerful allocation system allows both current orders and non-order items to be added to a run and sequenced for ease of delivery.
- Standard “Milk” Runs – As well as being able to create runs on the fly, the system will store regular runs to improve efficiency.
- Remaining Capacity of Runs – When making up runs, spare capacity is automatically calculated from the orders. The remaining space is shown both in volume and weight. The system will prompt the user if either limit is exceeded.
- Picking Lists for Lorries – Once the transport manager has set up a run, it is sent out to the yard for loading. At the yard printer the picking documents are printed off in reverse drop sequence to simplify the task of picking.
- Delivery Details on Order – Because any salesman using the system can check the status of orders (including their delivery date, time and drop number) they can pass on to the customer an accurate assessment of likely delivery times. Customers will appreciate being able to rely on the delivery information your company gives them.
- Delivery Costs Estimation – Runs may be costed by different methods depending on the vehicle, at a rate expressed per Hour, per Cubic Metre, per tonne or at a fixed value. This will produce a total estimated delivery cost, which may be distributed to each of the orders on the run in proportion to their value (Amount), Volume, Weight, or equally to each order.
- Interface to PC Route Planners – The Transport Scheduling module can interface with PC Route Planners to further improve delivery costs.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
Building on the STRIP5 trading system, Contact Relationship Management (CRM) module helps the sales department in generating more business from their customer base.
By building up a picture of the relationship you have with a customer it is possible to see where there is potential to improve contact, see which promotions they are likely to respond to and make you their first port of call whenever they need materials.

Personal Productivity Tools
Each operator can maintain their own list of tasks and appointments, receive imail (internal e-mail) messages from colleagues and be aware of events with system-generated alerts.
- Create Tasks for yourself or colleagues
- Access customer record associated with a task
- Create and view task ‘threads’, taking a project through to completion
