G.E Robinson - Salford based timber importer/merchant

G.E.Robinson, the Salford based timber importer/merchant, were increasingly unhappy with their old trading system and its poor support. Acknowledging that such problems do not just disappear, they turned to Ten~25 Software for quality timber trading software and support services.

After only two months, G.E.Robinson went live on their new system - dispelling fears of disruption often associated with changing systems. Financial Director Andrew Gerrard commented just nine days later: "we are now in a position where our UniSTRIP system is more up-to-date than our old system in all areas".

The integrated nature of the UniSTRIP system allows Robinson's to share vital information across the business. The integrated Credit Control facilities allow all sales to be credit-checked at the order stage, whilst computerised Transport Scheduling means all staff can track customer orders right down to their delivery time. Management Information is also updated in real time and accessible according to the user's clearance.

UniSTRIP's printing and faxing facilities also prove very useful in improving efficiency within the company. All despatches and collections have computer-produced documents, with copies printing out in the appropriate department. In addition all users on the system have the ability to send faxes directly from their terminal. One result of this, Andrew Gerrard notes, is that "the vast majority of monthly statements are now sent by fax, reducing time and costs".
