The inward movement of stock into a business can bring as many complexities as the outward process of sales and despatch.  The STRIP5 system divides the inward, purchase and acquisition operations into two main areas:

The Purchase Order Processing module exists to provide simple control for straightforward purchase orders, goods receipt and supplier returns.  A standard module of a STRIP5 system, Purchase Order Processing gives a simple, solid foundation for recording purchases from local suppliers with short lead times.

The Forward Contracting module provides more complex features for specific importing requirements.  It is used to monitor the progress of the contract through all its stages until completion, including the building of cost, insurance and currency details if required.

In addition to the main system modules the Paxar handheld terminal delivers benefits to many areas of the business.  It improves purchasing operations with the replenishment function.  Users can walk round the yard/shop, scan a product or shelf-edge label, see the usage and any future orders, and enter a quantity to be purchased.
